Nice guys don’t finish last. I don’t care what Green Day says.

Lately I’ve been thinking about this attitude: just because someone else loses, does not mean that you win.

I’m sure we’ve all had experiences where you do whatever it takes to beat someone in something – at times I will try and outlast other guys in the sauna. It’s weird, I know. But we create competition out of meaningless tasks sometimes just so we can “win”.

Ask yourself this question: what does “winning” mean to you?

I think winning has way more to do with you becoming who you’re proud to see in the mirror. And if you can live the rest of your life knowing you’re a winner, you will walk in confidence.

Over the last 10 years I’ve felt that confidence, and it started long before I founded Empowered Electric. How? Because there is a peace inside of me and I know where my value comes from – I use my energy every day to give back to others, and because of that I feel and live like a winner.

At Empowered, we’re focused on the future because we know the best days are ahead. I know that winning, for me, is what I can give to others and, in turn, gain from that experience.

What does winning look like for you? Outlasting your competition? Getting what you want?

Just because others around you might lose, it does not make you a winner.
