Single Point Connections are Faultless Connections. I heard it when I was just a young apprentice and I have never forget it. Of course we have all worked in a box with a lot more wires than just one, so what are we supposed to do with all these wires.
Pigtail! Pigtail 2, 3, 4, or even 5 wires!
Some people (especially in the residential market) want to push speed more than quality and like to stab wires in the back of plugs and switches. We call those "Holes of Despair" because while they might be faster right now, they will cost you countless hours in trouble shooting or long term electrical failure.
Correctly Pigtailing is a true mark of a craftsman. Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast. Take the time to pig tail your boxes and everyone coming after you will thank you!
